Over the past month and a half, I posted four previous posts about my journey into the world of electric bikes.  My goal in sharing the details of my experience is to assist others who might be considering such a purchase for themselves.  At the end of the day, I think the argument for electric bikes is very strong for a number of potential uses, including as a daily commuter.

In this fifth and final installment, I am writing to reveal the bike that I purchased for myself.  My bike is… (drum roll please) the Stromer Standard!  After outfitting the bike with lights, fenders, a rack, panniers, water bottle, and a mount on the stem for my smart phone, I am very pleased to share a picture of the bike which I recently began using as an alternative commuting vehicle.

Admittedly, I’m still in the honey moon period with my new bike, but I’m loving it so far!  Burning calories in place of gasoline is certainly a step in the right direction for this desk jockey.  I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
